Silvia is a Portuguese mother to three boys who have completed their Home Education journey and who are now active young adults. She is the Founder of Descobrimos, a platform to support Home Education and parenting, with resources and advice for educating families, and an active member of MEL – Movement for Freedom in Education, the Portuguese Association that defends freedom in education. Silvia serves on the Advisory Board of the Global Home Education Exchange (GHEX) and chairs the GHEX European Committee Chair. She is passionate about developing more collaboration so that freedom in the world is a reality for everyone. Silvia is also a researcher at the Center for Global Studies at the Aberta University, developing a PhD on Family Human Rights in Education, as well as a Trainer, parental coach and author.
