Nicola came to home education back in 2014 when her children were struggling in their local primary school. She has spent the past 10yrs learning about child development, psychology, trauma and neurodiversity (to name a few of her passions). Nicola took the opportunity to educate herself while her kids got on with their childhoods.
Now Nicola enjoys translating her very personal home education experiences into fascinating short films. Nicola believes that her love of creativity is down to her neurodivergent personality and would like to express thanks to her dyslexia and ADHD for being part of what makes her her. She is keen to illustrate that neurodivergence is simply part of the rich tapestry of human evolution and natural diversity, and that many of the most incredible artists, philosophers and scientists have quirky traits alongside their passions and talents.
Nicola’s vision for futureproofing children is about respecting innate talents, strengths and quirks, helping children to feel good about themselves and to accept themselves as they are. Children deserve to emerge from their childhoods feeling good about themselves and being capable of seeing their own potential.
