Kate Caroe has six children who were home educated from birth to 13; she is currently home educating her two youngest who are age 8 and 10. Over the years she has moved from a homeschooling approach to a more intentional trust in natural curiosity and the power of stories, which is the foundation for OutoftheBox Stories. OutoftheBox is a way of creating a safe space for dialogue and reflection, using story and play in a lighthearted and yet deep atmosphere. It originates from Deep Talk, which was established in Finland by Tuula Valkonen in 2002. OutoftheBox was established in 2021 and is used in schools, workplaces, therapeutic settings, churches, care homes and community groups.
