The Benefits of Interactive Stories to Explore Dangerous or Imaginative Concepts

In this session, we will explore the history of interactive story play like dungeons and dragons, d20 modern and vampire masquerade. Where did these games come from? How do they work? How can you use these models to stretch your child’s learning potential no matter their age or ability? More flexible than any other model, these games encapsulate the values of home education in all its colour and diversity. Dungeons and dragons isn’t the corporate gimmick it is today; it started thousands of years ago around a campfire. Why not step into another world where you are free to make mistakes, be a fully grown adult, wield a sword or perhaps ride a horse into the sunset. Want a Minecraft adventure without the screens? We can go there! Want to mash up Pokemon and a quest for a Butter Lamp in the Himalayas? We can do that too! Join me as we enter a world where the only limit is your imagination, and I will show you a way to lose the screens.
